Alpha Valve Spring and Titanium Retainer Kit

The Skunk2 Alpha Valve Spring and Titanium Retainer Kit is a performance valvetrain upgrade for Honda's K-series engines. The dual valve springs are manufactured from super-clean, chrome-silicone wire, milled in Japan. By utilizing inner and outer springs with differing frequencies and a slight interference fit, these springs prevent valve float and maintain valvetrain stability at engine speeds over 10,000 rpm. The kit features a seat pressure of 60 lbs at 1.600” and an open pressure of 220 lbs at 1.100”, with a coil bind height of 1.000”. Skunk2's Alpha Titanium Retainers are engineered to reduce valvetrain mass, leading to more horsepower and enhanced stability. These retainers incorporate radius-cut edges for improved rocker arm clearance, strategically placed lightening grooves, and reduced overall heights for better valve seal clearance and further weight reduction. They are designed using 3D CAD and FEA for optimized strength and minimal weight, manufactured from medical-grade titanium that is ultrasonically inspected and certified. Important compatibility notes include: Engines originally equipped with single valve springs require the K-Series Spring Base Kit (sold separately). This kit is not compatible with Pro Series Camshafts. Additionally, when using Skunk2 Titanium Retainers on 2004 and newer engines, pre-2004 keepers (Honda P/N 14781-PR7-A01) must be used. Proper retainer and keeper selection is critical to avoid potential engine damage.
