The Autotech HP-8301-370 is a charging system alternator engineered for demanding electrical setups, including high-performance car audio systems and lighting upgrades. Its voltage is precisely set to 14.8v to bypass the PCM, and a necessary plug harness is provided. For any dash light indicators that may appear after installation, Autotech offers free instructional videos on their YouTube channel, accessible through their technical help section, titled 'pcm bypass dash light.' A crucial 'Big 4' wiring upgrade (alternator positive to battery positive, battery negative to chassis ground, engine block to chassis ground, and an optional alternator casing to chassis ground) is recommended for maximum voltage and reliability. Autotech also advises ensuring the idle RPM is at least 650 RPM and warns against disconnecting the battery while the car is running, as this can instantly damage the alternator and void the warranty.
