The RKI H-Series underbody truck box, model H361818A, is a robust storage solution designed for mounting beneath the truck or trailer bed. This frees up cargo space while providing high-capacity tool storage for contractors and fleets. Constructed from durable .100 bright diamond treadplate aluminum, it is engineered to withstand harsh jobsite conditions and heavy loads. The horizontally hinged door is also made of .100 bright diamond treadplate aluminum with an inner stiffener of .080 smooth aluminum. All welds are full arc welds, ensuring strength and longevity. The door is attached to the hull with stainless steel pillow block type hinges that feature self-lubricating bushings and 5/16” stainless steel hinge pins, riveted to the box. Heavy-duty machine chains hold the door in the open position and are easily detachable to allow the door to drop down to 180°. A drip rail over the door, a full-size recessed stainless steel paddle handle rotary latch (with two keys furnished), and a ribbed D-Bulb seal installed in a recessed channel around the door opening ensure security and protection from the elements. The door also has a formed knife edge on all four sides to contact the seal when closed.
