The KDD ICON Series Street Port Cylinder Heads represent a significant advancement in performance for diesel engines, offering superior airflow and cylinder swirl compared to stock or CNC-ported factory-style heads. Engineered from the ground up, these USA-made aluminum heads utilize state-of-the-art casting technologies to optimize port design for maximum fuel mixture and combustion efficiency, leading to increased power, lower exhaust gas temperatures, and improved throttle response. Constructed from aluminum for superior heat dissipation, these heads are built to handle the demands of heavy-duty daily use. Key features include hardened seats and heavy-duty guides for enhanced durability, a dual-layer water jacket to eliminate hot spots, and reinforcements/gussets to properly distribute head stud clamping load. The o-ringed design further ensures a reliable seal and prevents head gasket failure. With a weight savings of over 75 lbs compared to factory heads, they contribute to overall vehicle performance. The manufacturing process, from design to machining and assembly, is entirely USA-based. These ICON Series heads incorporate modern high velocity swirl port technology, similar to that found in the 6.7 Powerstroke, designed to maximize airflow without compromising essential cylinder swirl. This precise engineering, informed by extensive CFD analysis, ensures optimal fuel atomization and complete combustion, minimizing soot and maximizing power output. The port locations remain compatible with conventional intake and exhaust manifolds, yet the internal path of air is drastically improved.
