The FrozenBoost INT000213 is a liquid-to-air intercooler designed as a high-performance alternative to traditional front-mount intercoolers (FMIC). Constructed from 100% lightweight aluminum, this intercooler utilizes a core with a fin pitch of 21 fins per inch, specifically 12.5 fins per inch on the air side and 8.5 fins per inch on the water side. This construction method avoids the use of epoxy, ensuring durability and efficiency. The intercooler is recommended for applications up to 450 CFM and 350 HP, boasting an exceptionally low pressure drop of less than 0.1 PSI. The unit features a core size of 9.25"x3.5"x3.5", with endtanks contributing to the overall length. The air inlet and outlet connections are 2.5", while the water inlet and outlet are standard 1/2" NPT threads, chosen for their availability in the US market over less common BPT threads. It is rated for a maximum water/air pressure of 70 PSI. The 90-degree angle of the inlet and outlet ports is designed to facilitate installation in areas with limited space. This intercooler is a true water-to-air core design, distinguishing it from less efficient units that may use air-to-air core designs. A true water-to-air core features significantly smaller water passages compared to air passages, contributing to its compact size and low pressure drop. Implementing a liquid-to-air intercooler setup requires additional components such as a water pump, a heat exchanger (radiator), and potentially a reservoir.
