The JB Racing Aluminum Lightweight Flywheel is designed to significantly reduce the high rotating mass of your stock E36 M3 flywheel, allowing your engine to rev more rapidly. This performance upgrade results in quicker gear shifts and effortless rev-matching, making it ideal for street-driven vehicles. By reducing static weight and Moment of Inertia (MOI), the engine requires less power to accelerate, translating to more efficient power delivery to the wheels. This single-mass flywheel is precision-engineered from billet aluminum and features a replaceable hardened steel clutch surface that is securely bolted, not riveted. It incorporates Heli-coil inserts for the pressure plate to prevent stripping during clutch replacement and includes a factory starter ring gear. The flywheel also features a hardened steel gaul plate to protect it from bolt damage, captive design 10mm dowel pins for secure installation, and all metric pressure plate hardware. Weighing in at 10 pounds, it is substantially lighter than the stock 25-pound flywheel.
