The Spec-D Aluminum Radiator is engineered as a direct bolt-on performance upgrade for the Ford Mustang Fox Body chassis, covering model years 1979 through 1993. It is compatible with 2.3L I4, 3.8L V6, and 5.0L V8 engine platforms, and works with both manual and automatic transmissions. Designed for both everyday driving and performance applications like autocross, drag racing, and drifting, this radiator aims to reduce operating temperatures by up to 20 degrees. It features an internal transmission cooler with 1/2-20UNF fittings for automatic transmissions; manual transmissions can simply cap these ports. The inlet diameter is 1.3 inches and the outlet diameter is 1.5 inches, with core dimensions of 24.5" x 16.75" x 2.75". When installing this significantly thicker (2.75") 3-row core, it is highly recommended to check for clearance between the fan shroud and engine pulleys. You will need to reuse your factory radiator stay brackets and rubber bushings. It is also advised to install a new high-pressure radiator cap to match the radiator's billet neck. A thorough flushing of the cooling system is recommended during replacement to prevent air pockets.
