The BimmerBum Kitted aluminum thermostat housing is designed as a replacement for the failure-prone OE plastic housing on select BMW models. Made from cast aluminum, it aims to improve durability and cooling system performance. This housing connects the engine to the radiator and regulates coolant flow to control engine operating temperature. It includes a thermostat housing gasket.

The BimmerBum Kitted aluminum thermostat housing is a direct replacement for OE plastic housings that are prone to cracking and coolant leaks. This housing serves as the central point for the thermostat, regulating the flow of coolant to and from the engine. It connects the engine to the radiator via hoses, working with the thermostat to maintain the optimal engine operating temperature. The housing may also feature connections for sensors or other cooling system components. While this housing is designed to fit specific BMW models, a customer reported that while it fit their 1999 BMW 323i convertible perfectly, the included rubber gasket/seal did not fit, requiring a separate purchase. Another customer noted that the casting finish was poor on their unit, leading them to choose a different brand. This product is not compatible with the E46 chassis, which uses an electronically controlled thermostat.
