Dart Race Series small block Ford aluminum bare blocks are designed specifically for Fords. They feature cast 355-T6 aerospace alloy for superior strength, siamesed cylinders with standard 4.00 in. or 4.125 in. cylinder bores (safely bored to 4.165 in.), ductile iron sleeves, and extra-thick walls to prevent cracking and ensure excellent ring seal. Scalloped water jackets increase coolant flow for improved engine life and consistent cylinder temperatures. Four deck heights are available. It has steel 4-bolt main bearing caps, with the three center caps featuring splayed outer bolts for maximum strength and the rear cap using a standard one-piece seal. Two main bearing diameters (2.2449 in. or 2.749 in.) allow for the choice of small or large journal crankshaft. These blocks are direct replacements for most production small blocks, with provisions for stock motor mounts, accessory drives, smog pumps, starter brackets, oil pans, and pumps. They feature an upgraded oiling system with low-restriction priority main oiling and front and rear external oil pump feeds. Dual crossovers allow oil flow to be metered with restrictors for roller lifter cams and/or roller rocker arms. Reinforced head bolt bosses are blind-tapped to prevent leaks. Extra-thick decks prevent head gasket leaks. Standard camshafts and camshaft drives can be used. Precision CNC machining ensures consistently high quality.
