Analog Instrument System

The Dakota Digital VHX-88C-PU is a direct-fit instrument system engineered to modernize the dashboard of 1988-94 Chevy and GMC Pickup trucks, as well as 1992-94 SUVs. This system replaces the factory instrument cluster entirely, featuring a sleek billet aluminum housing and durable optical grade polycarbonate lenses. It provides fully lit needles and backlit faces, along with two highly visible LCD message centers for displaying critical information. The VHX system includes a comprehensive set of gauges: speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure, water temperature, voltmeter, and fuel level. Additionally, the digital message centers can display odometer readings, trip odometers, a resettable service odometer, clock, hour meter, and a 0-60 MPH timer. Various indicator lights are also supported, including turn signals, high beam, check engine, parking brake, and cruise control. Included with the kit are necessary sensors for oil pressure (1/8” NPT) and water temperature (1/8" with various bushing options for different NPT sizes, as well as 12mm and 16mm for GM & LS applications). A speedometer pulse generator is also provided. Dakota Digital's VHX systems are known for their micro-controlled precision stepper motors, solid-state sensors for accuracy, and user-customizable display feedback. The product comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is engineered and manufactured in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Note that this system eliminates the gear indicator found in automatic transmission models; a separate GSS-3000 Gear Shift Sensor can be added for a shifter detent readout.
