API Performance Equal Length Long Tube Headers

The VQPlug API Performance Equal Length Long Tube Headers are engineered to significantly enhance exhaust flow for the VQ35HR engine platform, addressing the restrictive nature of the factory exhaust manifolds. Unlike the VQ35DE, the VQ35HR benefits from improved intake and a higher rev ceiling, but its exhaust side remains a bottleneck. These long tube headers eliminate the stock manifolds and catalytic converters, leading to improved scavenging, reduced backpressure, and allowing the engine to breathe more freely. Constructed from durable 304 stainless steel and TIG-welded for reliability, these headers feature 1 5/8-inch diameter runners that feed into a 2.5-inch collector. The thick 15/32-inch flange ensures a secure, leak-free seal against the cylinder head. This design is optimized to increase power across the entire RPM range, with a particular emphasis on midrange and top-end gains where the HR engine excels. Installation is a direct bolt-on from the engine to the Y-pipe, requiring no additional adapters. After proper tuning, this modification alone has been recorded to yield gains of 20-28 horsepower on the dyno, even without other supporting upgrades. These headers are compatible with the 2007–2009 Nissan 350Z (VQ35HR) and the 2007–2008 Infiniti G35 Sedan (VQ35HR).
