The Audison APK 165 is a 2-way component speaker system designed for enhanced car audio performance, featuring a 165mm (6.5-inch) woofer and a 26mm (1-inch) tweeter. This system is engineered to deliver 100W of continuous power and up to 300W peak power, with a broad frequency response from 50Hz to 20kHz and a sensitivity of 95dB. The 2-ohm impedance is specifically designed to maximize output when paired with amplifiers capable of delivering more power at lower impedances, such as the Audison AP8.9-bit amplifier. The woofer boasts a water-repellent treated paper cone and a unique "triple wave" TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) edge for linear excursion up to 2.8mm, minimizing distortion even at high listening levels. Its compact basket is protected by an abrasion-resistant coating, and it features reduced mounting depth for easier OEM integration. The tweeter includes an acoustic lens to balance high frequencies, optimizing its performance in factory grille placements and ensuring a proper timbre with the woofer's rich low frequencies. Both components are developed using Klippel suite technology for precision engineering. Installation is streamlined with dedicated crossovers for the woofer (APCX WF 2Ω) and tweeter (APCX TW 2Ω). The crossovers feature low-loss voice coils and the Hi-Contour function for tweeter level adjustment (+2dB or 0dB), allowing for fine-tuning to achieve the desired acoustic balance. Connection cables are integrated into the passive crossovers and terminated with OEM-style fast-on connectors, which have distinct poles to prevent errors and ensure a secure, quick connection.
