AR5 to LS Transmission Adapter

The FABbot AR5 to LS Transmission Adapter provides a solution for integrating an Aisin AR5 5-speed manual transmission into LS engine builds. This adapter plate enables the mating of the AR5 transmission, sourced from vehicles like the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Polaris Slingshot, or Chevrolet Colorado, with any Gen III or IV LS engine. It is rated to withstand up to approximately 700 ft-lbs of torque, making it a robust option for performance applications. Included in the kit are the adapter plate itself, a pilot bearing, and a clutch slave cylinder spacer, along with all necessary hardware for installation. The system is designed to work with a GM 4L60E bellhousing, though minor modifications to the bellhousing may be required for clearance and to route the clutch slave cylinder lines. For a direct bolt-on solution, FABbot also offers an optional bellhousing kit. Several components are required for this conversion to be successful. The AR5 transmission itself will need either an adapter for a U-joint and a slip yoke (for car transmissions) or can utilize its stock slip yoke (for truck transmissions). A clutch and flywheel compatible with an F-Body LS1-to-T56 setup is necessary. The stock Colorado slave cylinder can be used, or an optional FABbot slave cylinder is available. A clutch master cylinder with a minimum bore size of 11/16" is recommended, with a 3/4" bore offering a more refined pedal feel. Clutch line compatibility depends on the original vehicle; a -4AN adapter is available if needed.
