AR5 to LS Transmission Adapter Kit

The FABbot NexGen AR5 to LS Transmission Adapter Kit provides a solution for integrating an Aisin AR5 5-speed manual transmission into builds utilizing GM Gen III or Gen IV LS engines. This advanced adapter design eliminates the need for modifications to the factory LS 4L60e bellhousing or the transmission's front bearing retainer. The NexGen adapter allows for the use of an SFI-rated bellhousing, enhancing safety and compliance for performance applications. This kit is engineered to pair an AR5 transmission from donor vehicles like the Chevrolet Colorado, Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, or Polaris Slingshot with an LS engine. The package includes the adapter plate, pilot bearing, clutch slave cylinder spacer, and all necessary hardware. Compatibility requires specific clutch and flywheel setups (F-Body LS1-to-T56), a stock Colorado clutch slave cylinder (or equivalent), and a GM 4L60E bellhousing with a 7-inch depth (casting number 24206952 is specified). A clutch master cylinder with a minimum 11/16" bore and no more than a 6:1 pedal ratio is recommended, with a 3/4" bore offering optimal feel. For NexGen configurations, a remote bleeder and -3AN or -4AN feed line are required. Alternatively, if using the factory quick connect fitting or no remote bleeder, two 1.5" holes may need to be cut into the bellhousing. Various AR5 transmission configurations exist across donor vehicles, including differences in gear ratios and tail shaft types (slip yoke for trucks, flange for cars). Users opting for car transmissions will need an adapter to convert to a U-joint and install a slip yoke on their driveshaft. The kit is designed to handle torque up to 260 ft-lbs. While the NexGen adapter allows for zero bellhousing modifications, the original design required bellhousing modification.
