Arising-I Carbon Fiber Cooling Hood

The Varis Arising-I cooling hood is a track-proven, lightweight carbon fiber hood designed specifically for the 2017-2021 Honda Civic Type R (FK8). It addresses the cooling limitations often encountered during circuit driving by facilitating superior heat dissipation. Through a combination of NACA ducts and a strategically positioned rear outlet duct, the hood effectively pulls hot air from the engine compartment, which has been shown in track testing to reduce water temperatures by 5°C independently. Constructed for both performance and durability, this hood features a reinforced inner rib layout. It is compatible with the factory hood latch, meaning hood pins are not required, although Aerocatch latches are recommended for high-speed or dedicated track use. For carbon fiber variants, a UV-resistant PPF or clear coat application is recommended to maintain finish longevity. This hood is specifically designed for the FK8 chassis and is not compatible with other Civic models. It is frequently paired with other Varis aerodynamic components to maximize thermal management performance, as simultaneous installation with the Varis front bumper has been observed to lower water temperatures by 10-15°C.
