The Tomei ARMS MX8265 Single Scroll Turbocharger represents Tomei's latest design, featuring a CNC billet compressor wheel for significant improvements over traditional cast wheels. Machined from aerospace-grade materials, its thinner blades and larger surface area enhance airflow and turbo spool. This turbo is engineered for high-performance applications, supporting up to 450 horsepower, making it suitable for race cars, rally cars, overlanders, or daily drivers. Key details include a reinforced forged billet construction, a Multi-Rate Billet Actuator with six springs for precise boost adjustment, and a swivel-type nipple for easier hose routing. The turbo utilizes a journal bearing system and features specific dimensions for its compressor wheel (54.8mm inducer, 76.2mm exducer, 52 trim, 6 blades) and turbine wheel (67.0mm inducer, 58.8mm exducer, 77 trim, 11 blades). The compressor housing has an A/R of 0.78mm, while the turbine housing has an A/R of 0.57mm. Note that a silicone inlet hose is recommended when installing this turbocharger, as its inlet diameter is slightly larger than stock. This turbo is designed as an OEM upgrade for Subaru models including the 2002-2007 Subaru WRX, 2004-2021 Subaru STI, and 2004-2008 Forester.
