MIA's Description

The ARP Pro Series cylinder head studs (Part Number 230-4201) are engineered for superior strength and durability, making them a preferred choice among professional engine builders. These head studs are cold-forged to ensure molecular integrity and then heat-treated before thread rolling and machining. This process enhances their fatigue strength significantly. The kit includes 12-point nuts and hardened parallel washers for even load distribution and accurate torque readings. They are made from ARP's proprietary 8740 chromoly material (some sources say ARP2000, which is an enhanced 8740 chromoly), boasting a tensile strength of 220,000 PSI. The fasteners have a black oxide finish. This kit is designed to provide ample clamping force, especially for high-performance and high-boost applications in Duramax engines, preventing head lift. The kit contains 44 studs and includes ARP assembly lubricant for easier installation and removal.
