This ARP Pro Series head stud kit (MPN: 235-4326) is designed for all-out competition powerplants. It features premium grade 8740 alloy and a proprietary ARP2000 alloy, heat-treated to 200,000 psi for 8740 material and 220,000 psi for ARP2000 material. The studs are centerless ground and thread rolled after heat-treat, providing about 2000% better fatigue strength than studs threaded prior to heat-treat. Specially undercut studs (for shorter studs) are included to equalize stretch, ensuring more consistent clamping force and compensating for head gasket compression, which helps prevent blown head gaskets and assures optimum engine sealing. The fasteners feature a black oxide finish and 12-point nuts.
