The ARP 204-4203 is a high-strength head stud kit engineered to provide superior cylinder head sealing for select Volkswagen 1.8L and 2.0L 8-valve engines. Constructed from premium grade 8740 alloy, which ARP rates as superior to "aircraft" quality, these studs are heat-treated to 200,000 psi tensile strength and then precisely center-less ground. This process ensures an exceptionally concentric part. The kit includes hardened parallel washers to guarantee uniform load distribution, which is critical for accurate torque readings and optimal cylinder head-to-block sealing, especially in small displacement engines with high compression or those utilizing forced induction like turbochargers or superchargers. Each stud features a black oxide finish for enhanced wear and corrosion resistance, and they are thread-rolled to Mil-S-8879 specifications. This ARP head stud kit is specifically designed for 8-valve engines only and fits various Volkswagen models including the Cabrio III, Golf III, Jetta III, and Passat B4 with the 2.0L engine.
