The ARP ARP-RBS-S62 is a set of high-performance connecting rod bolts engineered specifically to replace the factory (OEM) rod bolts in the BMW S62 4.9L V8 engine. Constructed from ARP2000® material, these bolts provide a superior tensile strength of 220,000 psi, offering enhanced clamping force and reliability over stock hardware. These ARP2000 rod bolts are an essential upgrade for BMW S62 owners performing rod bearing replacement or engaging in high-performance applications. Their increased durability minimizes the risk of component failure under demanding conditions, making them a trusted choice for engine builders. The precision engineering ensures a perfect fit for the BMW S62 engine, guaranteeing consistent clamping force and preventing loosening during intense driving. Each kit includes ARP2000 bolts, ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant, and installation instructions. ARP recommends using the stretch method for tightening, with a target stretch of 0.0065 - 0.0070 inches. If a stretch gauge is unavailable, torque to 50 ft-lbs using the provided lubricant. It is advised that connecting rods be re-sized after new rod bolts are installed, and a log should be kept of the original non-torqued length of each bolt, replacing any with permanent deformation. These connecting rod bolts are compatible with the following BMW S62 applications: BMW E39 M5 (1998-2003) and BMW E52 Z8 (2000-2003).
