The Motordyne Engineering Advanced Resonance Tuning (ART) Pipes (MD-024) are the world's best-selling exhaust part for the VQ engine, representing a significant advancement in exhaust harmonic manipulation for improved performance and sound. Designed specifically for the Nissan 7th and 8th generation Maxima, these Y-pipes aim to increase power and torque while avoiding the excessive loudness often associated with traditional test pipes. The ART Y-Pipe utilizes a precisely tuned resonator tube to effectively dampen unwanted frequencies, reducing rasp and drone for a quieter, smoother, and deeper exhaust note. Crafted entirely from 304L stainless steel alloy for both flanges and tubing, these pipes are polished for enhanced corrosion resistance. All TIG welding is performed with argon back purging to ensure oxidation-free welds on both the inner and outer surfaces, reflecting Motordyne's commitment to aerospace-standard quality. This construction method contributes to a noticeable bump in power and torque by reducing the forces required to expel exhaust gases from the engine. It is important to note that these ART pipes are not compatible with AWD vehicles. Additionally, due to CARB regulations, this item cannot be sold or shipped to California. The product requires careful installation, with advice to tighten bolts finger tight initially and adjust alignment before final tightening.
