Assembled Aluminum Cylinder Head

The Ford Racing M-6049-X306 is an assembled, cast aluminum cylinder head known as the GT-40 Turbo-Swirl. This head is designed to enhance performance for Ford 289, 302, and 351 Windsor-style engines. It features a 64cc combustion chamber volume, 62cc exhaust runners, and utilizes 1.94-inch intake valves and 1.54-inch exhaust valves. These cylinder heads are specified with rectangular intake ports and are noted for their high-temperature exhaust valve seats and bronze guides. They are compatible with common rocker arms and are designed to work with specific short blocks such as the M-6009-427F, M-6009-363, and M-6009-460. However, they are explicitly not designed for production 302/351W engines or certain other Ford Racing cylinder head series like the Y302, Y303, X302, X303, X304, or X305. The M-6049-X306 cylinder heads have been discontinued and replaced by the M-6049-X2 series. Despite this, they remain a sought-after component for performance builds, offering improved airflow and combustion characteristics over stock heads.
