This caliper features a 60mm piston diameter and is designed to work with brake discs up to 28mm thick. Brake calipers are essential for your vehicle's stopping power. When you press the brake pedal, hydraulic fluid forces the caliper piston outward, clamping the brake pads onto the rotors. Over time, extreme heat and cooling cycles can cause internal seals to fail, leading to issues like seized pistons, brake fluid leaks, or dragging brakes and uneven pad wear. Regular brake system flushes are recommended as brake fluid is hygroscopic and can lead to internal corrosion and premature failures. This caliper is explicitly listed as fitting the BMW E32 and E34 chassis. Specific fitment includes: BMW 735i (1987-1992), 735iL (1988-1992), 750iL (1988-1994), 740i (1993-1994), 740iL (1993-1994), and 540i (1994-1995). It is designed for Automatic and Manual RWD Sedan models with engines ranging from 3.5L to 5.0L. It's important to note that this part does NOT fit the BMW 530i, specifically models equipped with a front brake pad wear sensor.
