This kit includes a cast 2-stroke piston and the top end gasket kit. Athena studies, develops, and tests internally all technologies and materials for its pistons, also engineering the entire development of compatible gaskets. After replacing a piston, this perfectly tuned kit offers very high performance and ensures maximum reliability. The pistons for 2-stroke off-road motorcycles are made by gravity casting and produced with state-of-the-art numerical control (CNC) machines. Athena pistons are made of a special high-performance aluminum alloy with a high silicon content that guarantees the same reliability of the O.E. piston, while at the same time providing greater resistance and excellent performance. The perfectly smooth profile ensures regular flow and perfect flame propagation. Some pistons' skirts are treated with a molybdenum disulfide coating applied by screen printing which further reduces friction to enhance performance and durability. Piston rings guarantee high seal to cylinder walls and at the same time maximum smoothness, less friction, and therefore higher performance.
