The Advance Adapters Atlas 2-speed transfer case is a high-strength, gear-driven solution for enhancing both on-road and off-road performance. Specifically designed for 2018 and newer Jeep JL Wrangler and JT Gladiator models equipped with an 850RE 8-speed automatic transmission, this unit features helical cut gears and a 356-T6 heat-treated aluminum case. It offers a 1:1 high range and a 3.8:1 low range, along with a 23-spline standard input. The Atlas is pre-configured with the necessary adapter housing to replace the stock Magna transfer case, allowing retention of factory driveshafts. Installation typically takes around 6 hours for the transfer case and 1-2 hours for the cable shifter. A Transmission Control Module (TCM) flash is required for proper operation in JL and JT models with automatic transmissions, as the stock transfer case ratios are coded into the module. Tools like the Z Automotive Tazer are recommended for reprogramming.
