The ATS 6019472218 APPS/TPS Signal Conditioner helps repair and prevent transmission hunting in and out of lock-up and/or between 3rd and 4th gears by conditioning the TPS signal. It is also referred to as "the sponge" in online forums and offers transmission protection by preventing damage from constant gear hunting under load.
