ATS Diesel 1996-98 Dodge Valve Body Towing Edition

The throttle valves (TV Valve) in a transmission's valve body control shift timing between gears through the constriction of hydraulic fluid and also control the line pressure required to clamp the clutch pack and band inside the transmission. Stock valves are known to stick or wear out, causing malfunctions and improper shifts, especially in Dodge automatic transmissions which use a soft, prone-to-wear material. ATS has engineered a "Hydro-balanced Valve and Sleeve" solution for Dodge Ram transmissions. By altering the valve's shape and material, and using a hardened sleeve in the valve body's bore, sticking issues are prevented. This design allows for a more aggressive line pressure slope, smooth shifts, and improved torque converter clutch engagement. The concept is similar to an engine's piston sleeve, increasing the lifespan of moving components and eliminating worn bores. This technique is used in ATS Towing, Racing, and Stand-Alone-Programmable Valve Bodies.
