MIA's Description

The ATS Stage 1 48RE transmission package upgrades the factory 48RE in 2004-2005 Dodge Cummins trucks for heavy-duty use, towing, and high-horsepower applications (up to 450 hp / 850 ft-lbs). It features increased Borg Warner and Raybestos clutch counts in Forward, Overdrive, and Overdrive Brake packs for higher torque capacity. Key modifications include billet strut anchor and accumulator piston replacements, a 1:5.0 ratio apply arm with a Borg Warner red lining band, and an extensively modified valve body. The valve body modifications enable torque converter lock-up in 1st and 2nd gear, improved fluid circulation, a proprietary TV valve sleeve, and increased line pressure. This "towing version" delivers smooth, quick, and crisp shifts.
