Description

The ATS 48RE Transmission Package strengthens the 48RE transmission in Dodge Cummins trucks (2003-2007 5.9L). It's built for heavy loads, daily driving, and high-horsepower applications. Modifications include increased clutch count in Forward, Overdrive, and Overdrive Brake packs using Borg Warner and Raybestos clutches for superior torque capacity and longevity. Factory sheet metal strut anchor and plastic accumulator piston are replaced with stronger billet units. The 1:5.0 ratio apply lever engages a Borg Warner Red Lining performance band. The valve body allows torque converter lockup in 1st and 2nd gear, fluid circulation in park/reverse/neutral, and increased line pressure for improved shift quality. The "towing version" (implied for street-driven, all-purpose trucks) provides smooth, quick, crisp shifts.
