ATS Diesel 89-97 Ford 7.3L E4OD Commander Torque Converter Lockup Controller

The ATS Co-Pilot transmission controller is recommended for use with light duty pickup trucks with a heavy-duty aftermarket transmission and torque converter package. While it functions perfectly on a stock transmission, factory shafts are weak and prone to breakage. The factory torque converter clutch will also fail if applied under high load conditions. Factory computers disengage lockup under certain conditions to protect components under higher load, which is when a heavy-duty aftermarket transmission is recommended. If a stock transmission is present, it is recommended to leave the Commander in a less aggressive setting under high load conditions.
