Show original supplier description
The Quaife QDH7B is a precision-engineered Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) limited-slip differential, designed as a direct replacement for the factory 'open' differential in 1993-1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse 2WD vehicles. Manufactured in Great Britain to ISO9001-2008 standards and backed by a lifetime warranty, this differential offers a significant upgrade for both road and motorsport applications. The ATB differential's gear-operated design ensures no service components need replacement, offering a 'fit and forget' solution. It works by automatically redirecting torque to the wheel with the most grip, which greatly reduces unwanted torque steer, understeer, and oversteer. This improves handling balance and braking performance, especially on front-wheel-drive cars, by minimizing wheel lock-up and ABS intrusion. Installation requires the gearbox to be removed, and specific roller bearings (MD710663 x2) and an optional speedometer drive gear (MD717879) may need to be press-fitted onto the unit.
Vehicle Symptoms
  • One wheel spinning when accelerating hard
  • Poor cornering traction, inside wheel spins
  • Wheel hop during aggressive launches
  • Loss of drive on wet or loose surfaces
  • Open differential causes uneven tire wear
