Description

The TransGo SK 5R55W is a comprehensive valve body repair kit for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles equipped with the 5R55W, 5R55S, and 5R55N automatic transmissions. Designed for models from 1999 to the present, this kit specifically targets common issues that plague these transmissions, including no-drive conditions, pump noise, failure to lock up (especially when hot), and slipping or shuddering during lock-up. It also addresses specific trouble codes such as P1740, P1744, P0732, P0733, P0734, and P0735. Additionally, springs are provided to correct issues related to no or slow reverse and the loss of various forward gear ranges, which are often caused by valve body issues rather than converter problems. Installation of the SK 5R55W kit is recommended for experienced technicians and does not require transmission removal.
