The 3M Automotive Adhesion Promoter, Sponge Applicator Packet, is engineered to significantly improve the bond strength of 3M Acrylic Foam Tapes on various automotive surfaces. This primer is specifically formulated for low-surface energy plastics including PPO, TPO, PP, PC, and PC + ABS, commonly found in exterior trim and body side moldings. Each packet contains 2.5 cc of adhesion promoter with a straw-colored liquid consistency and a viscosity of 25 Centipose maximum. The product has a quick drying time of 30-90 seconds, allowing for immediate tape application within one hour of primer drying for optimal results. It's crucial to ensure the bonding surface is clean, dry, and free of contaminants before application. For best results, apply a thin, uniform coating, using the minimum amount necessary to cover the entire surface, with a wet coating thickness of 0.002 inch or less. This adhesion enhancer comes in a box of 25 individually packaged sponge applicator packets, making it convenient for application. The product has a shelf life of one year when stored properly between 4°C - 38°C (40°F - 100°F) and 0 - 95% relative humidity.
