The Zumbrota Drivetrain RMTAX5J-7 is a remanufactured AX5 manual transmission engineered to meet the highest quality standards. It features a 3-step inspection process, including pre-inspection for case cracks and wear, measurement of component parts against OEM specifications, and a final build inspection. Key internal components like shaft straightness, gear wear, and synchronizers are extensively tested to meet OEM specs, with all seals being replaced. The transmission is also dyno-tested to ensure proper operation, shiftability, and noise levels. This specific model is designed for 1992-1993 Jeep Wrangler 2WD vehicles equipped with the AX5 manual transmission. It features an aluminum case and requires 3.5 quarts of SAE 30 transmission fluid, which is not pre-filled. The transmission does not have an integral bell housing. Zumbrota Drivetrain emphasizes a rigorous remanufacturing process that includes exclusive hydro-blast rinsing, sandblasting of internal and external parts, and proprietary shot-peening for deep cleaning. All transmissions undergo 100% inspection of internal parts and are dyno-tested through numerous real-life scenarios to guarantee reliability and precision.
