The Carbotech CT635 brake pads, specifically in the AX6 compound, are engineered for demanding Autocross applications. This high-torque compound is designed to deliver reliable and consistent performance across a wide operating temperature range, from 50°F to over 1100°F (10°C to 593°C+). The AX6 compound features an advanced matrix that provides an excellent initial bite, a high coefficient of friction, especially at lower temperatures, and very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. This makes it a popular choice for SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors seeking outstanding all-around performance. While many drivers opt to use the AX6 for street driving, Carbotech explicitly does not recommend this due to potentially elevated levels of dust and noise. The AX6 is also not recommended as a general race compound in most applications. This specific part number (CT635) is known to fit Mazda Miata models, including the NA (1994-1997) and NB (1999-2005) generations, specifically for front applications.
