Strange Oval KERA Axles are made from ultra-high strength low alloy steel, offering outstanding yield and tensile strengths, fatigue properties, and high toughness. They feature vertical rack heat treating to control distortion, CNC hobbed splines for precise tolerances and even torque transfer, generous transition fillet radii to reduce stress risers, and non-aggressive machining to minimize residual tensile stress. Shot peening increases torsional and bending fatigue life, and isotropic superfinishing reduces spline wear, lowers operating temperature, and minimizes micro stress risers. These axles are UMP legal and all 31 spline, gun-drilled. The KERA concept allows for tuning the chassis to turn left by reducing the left side axle diameter, acting as a precise tuning device similar to tire stagger without affecting cross weight, spring rates, anti-roll bar, ride height, or tire pressure.
