The Megan Racing LWT-ABE-MMX599 is an axle-back exhaust system designed for the Mazda Miata MX-5 1.8L models from 1999-2005, including the Mazdaspeed variant from 2004-2005. This system replaces the factory muffler with a larger, free-flowing straight-thru type muffler that utilizes perforated glass-pack fiber material to absorb sound frequencies, providing a mellow tone.

Constructed from 100% T-304 stainless steel, this exhaust system is built for durability and comes with a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects. It features a 102mm OD stainless steel tip and a 60mm ID muffler.

The Megan Racing LWT-ABE-MMX599 is an axle-back exhaust system specifically engineered to enhance the performance and sound of the Mazda Miata MX-5 1.8L from model years 1999 through 2005, including the Mazdaspeed models produced in 2004-2005. This exhaust system replaces the restrictive, multi-chambered factory muffler with a larger, free-flowing straight-thru type muffler. Unlike OEM designs that create backpressure by deflecting exhaust gases, Megan Racing's system uses perforated glass-pack mufflers. This design allows for a straight, unrestricted passage for exhaust gasses, dramatically decreasing backpressure and improving engine response and power. The glass-pack fiber material effectively absorbs sound frequencies, resulting in a pleasant, mellow tone. The entire system is constructed from 100% T-304 stainless steel, ensuring longevity and resistance to corrosion, and is backed by a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defects. Key specifications include a 60mm ID muffler, a 102mm OD stainless steel tip, and a direct bolt-on installation for manual transmission models. For automatic transmission models from 1999-2003, users must measure their muffler flange bolt-hole spacing to ensure compatibility, as two different versions were supplied by Mazda. Manual transmission models have a 4.33″ (110mm) center-to-center bolt-hole spacing, while automatic transmission models have a 3.46″ (88mm) center-to-center spacing.
