The Texas Speed & Performance B.F.D. Chop Monster is a performance-oriented hydraulic roller camshaft engineered to produce the most intense, aggressive idle sound possible for naturally aspirated 5.7L and 6.0L LS engines. With a 233/240 duration and .629/.600 lift profile, this camshaft is best suited for engines with a compression ratio of 10.5:1 or higher. Designed for cathedral port heads, this camshaft is specifically compatible with 1998-2002 5.7L Camaros and 2010-2015 V8 Camaros. It is intended for competition use and is not legal for road use or sale in the state of California. Hardware prerequisites include a high-performance valve spring kit; when installed as part of a package, this component typically requires a .660-inch dual spring kit featuring PAC Racing springs, titanium retainers, and hardened spring seats. Proper installation necessitates verifying pushrod length, as variation of up to .050 inches can occur depending on the specific camshaft core and lifter brand. Use of a pushrod length checker is highly recommended to prevent valvetrain issues. This product is a component of internal engine builds and should only be installed by experienced technicians or professional performance shops.
