B.F.D. "Chop Monster" Hydraulic Roller Camshaft 233/240

The Texas Speed & Performance B.F.D. "Chop Monster" camshaft (TSP-BFD-57/60) is a hydraulic roller camshaft engineered for 5.7L and 6.0L LS engines, including cathedral port heads. It boasts aggressive specs: 233/240 duration, .629/.600 lift, a 108 LSA, and a 106 ICL, designed to produce a "most savage chop humanly possible" idle and substantial power gains. This camshaft is estimated to increase horsepower by 65+ HP and operates effectively in the 2300-7000 RPM range. A desired compression ratio of 10.5:1 or higher is recommended. To achieve optimal performance and drivability, several supporting modifications are required. These include upgraded TSP Dual .660 Valve springs, an aftermarket stall converter rated for 3600+ RPM, and upgraded rear gears with a minimum ratio of 3.42. While it can be daily driven with proper tuning and an appropriately sized torque converter for automatic transmissions, manual transmissions will require more thorough tuning. It is generally recommended for weekend warrior applications on stock cubic inch engines. The B.F.D.
