The Texas Speed B.F.D. "Chop Monster" V2 Cam is a high-performance camshaft tailored for the Gen 5 L83 5.3L engine, focusing on delivering a distinct, aggressive idle and substantial power gains. Engineered to spec with Hoonigan's "Chop King," Zac Mertens, this cam utilizes a 110 LSA to provide increased grunt and power delivery between 2000 and 6500 RPM. This camshaft requires specific supporting components for proper operation, including a TSP/PAC Dual .660" LT Valve Spring Kit or Manton Conical Valve Springs. It also mandates the use of an aftermarket torque converter (3000+ stall) for optimal drivability. Please note that this camshaft does not retain factory AFM/DOD functionality, requiring a DOD/AFM delete kit, and requires a phaser lockout kit to address VVT management. Texas Speed recommends pairing this camshaft with their hardened chromoly pushrods. Designed for a compression ratio of 11.1:1 or higher, the camshaft supports daily-driven configurations when paired with the appropriate torque converter and custom tuning.
