The Vortech V-7 YSi-B supercharger head unit represents a significant advancement in compressor technology. It incorporates a technologically advanced, high-efficiency, 5-axis machined billet impeller and a high-diffusion housing, both developed and tested in an SAE-J1723-compliant supercharger test cell. The heavy duty (H/D) configuration is particularly suited for race applications, featuring high-speed, ceramic hybrid ball bearings and compatibility with cog pulley/Gilmer style drive setups. Its exclusive D-port volute enhances efficiency, and it requires a Vortech Racing Bypass Valve or larger to manage discharge flow demands. Key performance specifications include an internal step-up ratio of 3.45:1, a maximum speed of 65,000 RPM, and the capability to produce 30+ PSI of boost. It can achieve a maximum flow of 1,950 CFM and support over 1,400+ HP, with a peak efficiency of 78%. Dimensions include a 3.00" discharge outside diameter, a 4.00" inlet outside diameter, and a 3.70" inducer diameter. This model offers a straight discharge and is available with counter-clockwise (CCW) rotation. It is noted that the V-7 YSi supercharger's compressor housing is approximately 20% larger than that of a V-1 and may require modification or fabrication of mounting brackets/plates.
