The FTP Motorsport Inlet Pipe Kit is an aluminum intake pipe engineered to enhance the performance and reliability of the B58 engine found in select BMW models. This upgrade directly addresses a common failure point in the factory plastic intake pipe, which is susceptible to cracking due to age and heat cycles, causing detrimental air leaks, check engine lights, and reduced engine performance. Constructed from smooth aluminum, this inlet pipe not only replaces the weak OEM component but also offers tangible performance benefits. It improves turbocharger response and boosts mid-range power. Additionally, it eliminates the factory intake resonator/sound generator, if equipped, for a more direct airflow path. The kit includes necessary installation hardware and a 3-ply silicone coupler, ensuring a durable and leak-free seal under demanding conditions. This inlet pipe kit is specifically designed to fit the BMW F22 M240i (2016-2021), F30 340i (2016-2018), and F32/F33 440i (2016-2019) models, including xDrive variants. It serves as a direct replacement for BMW part number 13718601682. However, it has not been evaluated or tested for emissions compliance and is not legal for installation or use in California or any other jurisdiction governed by CARB regulations for aftermarket parts.
