The Bilstein B8 5100 shock absorber is designed to provide dependable suspension performance for trucks and SUVs, handling heavier loads and off-road conditions effectively. This rear shock absorber features a monotube internal design for superior heat dissipation, ensuring consistent damping performance even under extended use. Its smooth body design, measuring 46mm in diameter, is non-coilover and contributes to durability and straightforward installation. The B8 5100 series utilizes Bilstein's patented digressive valving, which reacts instantly to changing surface conditions to provide maximum comfort and control both on and off the road. These shocks also feature split compression and rebound valving specifically tuned for each application, ensuring optimal performance. The zinc plated finish offers excellent corrosion resistance, while the included black bellows boot protects the piston rod from dirt and debris, prolonging the shock's service life. The shock absorber has a collapsed length of 14.02 inches and an extended length of 22.94 inches, with a 12mm eye lower mount and a stem upper mount. This rear shock absorber is specifically listed for fitment on various Toyota Tacoma models from 2005 to 2023, particularly those with 0-1" rear lift. It's important to note that this part number (24-186728) supersedes the discontinued part number 24-239370. For optimal and balanced suspension performance, it is recommended to replace shocks in pairs.
