The Bilstein B8 5100 Monotube Gas Shock Absorber is engineered to provide superior performance for vehicles with larger wheels and tires or those that are lifted. Featuring a 46mm digressive piston and a monotube gas pressure design, these shocks improve handling on various terrains, from daily driving to off-road excursions. The monotube construction facilitates efficient heat transfer and dissipation, minimizing shock fade and ensuring consistent performance even under heavy loads, towing, or aggressive off-road conditions. They are ideal for daily-driven vehicles that also see off-road use. The durable zinc-plated finish provides excellent corrosion and rust resistance, ensuring longevity in harsh environments. Each shock absorber includes factory hardware such as washers, bushings, reservoir clamps, and nuts, though factory shock mounting bolts are reused for installation. Mounting plates are sold separately. The B8 5100 series is specifically recommended for lifted vehicles, providing an extended range of travel (Extended Length: 26.15" for rear, 16.3" for front; Compressed Length: 16.14" for rear, 12.54" for front; Travel Length: 10.01" for rear, 3.76" for front). For factory-spec vehicles, Bilstein recommends the 4600 series shocks, as their valving is better suited for daily driving on pavement.
