Baffled Aluminium Oil Sump for EA888 Engines

The iABED Industries Baffled Aluminium Oil Sump is designed as a direct replacement for OEM plastic and steel sumps on EA888.1/2 and EA888.3 engines, making it an essential upgrade for track cars. Constructed entirely from aluminium, it offers superior strength, longevity, and corrosion resistance compared to the original plastic part. The sump is CNC machined for precision, featuring a baffled design with hinged flaps that keep oil around the OE pickup pipe, preventing oil starvation during aggressive cornering. This baffled sump increases oil capacity by 0.8L without raising the minimum oil level height, providing a greater oil reserve for demanding driving conditions. It includes provisions for the OEM oil level sensor, requiring no modifications for its installation. A standard feature is the ¾-16 magnetic drain plug, which helps capture metallic particles from the engine oil. Installation requires specific considerations. The stock plastic guard/windage tray must be removed, as the iABED sump will not fit with it in place. The factory sump bolts are reused, but one bolt will need slight modification. Sump sealant and an oil level sensor seal are not included and must be purchased separately. Additionally, if fitting to a Polo 6C GTI 1.8 EA888.3 or an Audi S1, the Golf GTI/R oil pickup pipe (part number 06K115251J) must also be fitted, as the standard pickup pipe is incompatible with the sump on these specific models.
