The Steeda ProFlow Intercooler is a performance upgrade for 2020-2025 Ford Explorer models, specifically engineered to enhance cooling efficiency. Utilizing a high-capacity bar and plate design, this intercooler increases total volume by 214% and offers 259% greater front surface area compared to the factory unit. These upgrades facilitate significant air temperature drops, helping to mitigate the risk of engine detonation and damage while supporting more consistent power delivery during spirited driving or track use. Installation requires specific considerations: for 2025+ Explorer models, the Steeda Explorer 2.3L/3.0L ProFlow Intercooler Pipe Kit is necessary for proper fitment. Note that this intercooler does NOT fit special service vehicles (SSV) due to their unique transmission cooler configuration. Additionally, performance tuning is recommended to fully realize the power gains offered by this cooling upgrade, with tested performance results showing improved 0-60 MPH times when combined with an SCT BDX or X4 tuning package.
