The Garrett Intercooler Core is a high-end, universal intercooler core that leverages advanced technology for superior charge air cooling. Garrett employs a bar and plate design, featuring thinner bars than many competitors. This construction, combined with high-density, offset cooling fins, significantly enhances the active cooling surface area, reduces weight, and minimizes pressure drop. The result is more efficient heat extraction, leading to denser, cooler charge air that can be fed into the engine for increased horsepower and torque. Each Garrett intercooler core is rated for a specific horsepower target, with this model supporting up to 410 HP under normal operating conditions, though its maximum potential may be higher. The core dimensions are 457 mm (hot flow), 203 mm (no flow), and 76 mm (cold flow). For optimal performance and longevity, it is recommended to use a core that fits within the available space while allowing for properly designed end tanks. Good ambient airflow through the core is crucial for air-to-air intercoolers.
