Bar-and-Plate Intercooler with FDS

The Integrated Engineering FDS intercooler is engineered to combat heat soak and power loss that occurs with modified VW/Audi 2.0T engines. When upgrades like ECU tuning, exhaust systems, or turbochargers are added, intake air temperatures rise significantly, leading to substantial power reduction. This front-mount intercooler system directly replaces the factory unit, incorporating a much larger core and the proven FDS to effectively utilize its increased capacity. This design ensures higher cooling efficiency, maintaining lower intake air temperatures and safely boosting horsepower output. Constructed with U.S. cast and machined end tanks and a dense bar-and-plate core, this intercooler is built for performance and durability. It features precise TIG welding and CNC machined mounting points, allowing for reuse of factory mounting points for a perfect OEM fitment without cutting or drilling. The kit includes 5-ply reinforced silicone hoses for connection to factory outlet and throttle pipes on many MK5 & MK6 2.0T engines. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, 3D printed prototypes, and in-house dyno testing were used to optimize the end tanks and FDS for rapid cooling, minimal pressure drop, and maximum flow. Installation is a direct factory replacement, requiring no permanent vehicle modifications, though technical expertise is recommended. Specific fitment notes apply: 2013.5+ MK6 Jetta & GLI with Gen 3 TSI require the IE Gen 3 MK6 Charge Pipe Kit (IETPCC12). Many Audi TSI models may require custom work to lengthen the passenger side inlet hose. VW CC, Eos, and B6/B7 Passat models may also require custom inlet hoses. VW Tiguan models require custom intercooler hoses. It is recommended to use the OEM radiator as fitment with aftermarket radiators has not been confirmed. The intercooler supports over 700hp.
