The base plate provides an attachment point for a separately sold Blue Ox towing bar. Its unique design allows for flex to absorb shock, spreading weight evenly to minimize pressure on the suspension. Constructed from durable steel, it is hidden beneath the vehicle body for an OE look. Most models feature removable twist-lock tabs for aesthetic appeal when not towing, avoiding large protruding brackets. It sets industry standards with a locking linchpin.
