The Alpine S2-W12D4 is a next-generation 12-inch subwoofer engineered to deliver powerful and reliable bass at an approachable price point. Its construction features a lightweight yet sturdy carbon fiber and polypropylene cone, paired with Alpine's High Amplitude Multi-Roll (H.A.M.R.) Surround Technology. This combination allows for 15mm of one-way excursion, ensuring deep, low-distortion bass reproduction and exceptional accuracy. With a robust power handling of 600W RMS and a peak of 1800W, the S2-W12D4 is built for performance. It boasts a wide frequency response from 23Hz to 215Hz and a sensitivity of 86.2dB (1W/1m), making it capable of handling diverse music genres with powerful and accurate bass. The subwoofer is equipped with dual 4-ohm voice coils and includes configuration jumpers for easy installation. Additional features include a twist-lock grille mounting system for convenient grille installation and removal, and push-type speaker terminals that accept up to 8AWG wire. For optimal performance, Alpine suggests pairing the S2-W12D4 with their S-Series amplifiers. A single subwoofer can be perfectly matched with the 600W S2-A60M mono amplifier, while multiple subwoofers can be driven by the 1200W S2-A120M amplifier for a more impactful system.
